Songcatcher Dachshunds

A full website rebuild for a multi-decade dachshund breeder — paired with a custom puppy management system, automatic Facebook posting for new litters, and a built-in owner community where past puppy families share updates and reviews.

Songcatcher Dachshunds
[ 01 ]The problem

Songcatcher Dachshunds had been raising dachshunds since 1988, but their online presence didn't reflect the quality or scale of the program. Posting a new litter meant manually editing pages, then separately sharing to Facebook — slow, repetitive, and easy to fall behind on. There was no central place for past puppy families to share how their dogs turned out, even though hundreds of happy owners existed across the country.

[ 02 ]The goal

Replace the old site with a polished, trustworthy modern presence — and give the breeder back hours every week by automating the busywork around posting puppies. Build a true community space so the program's strongest proof point — long-time puppy owners — could speak for it directly on the site.

[ 03 ]The solution

What we built.

Sites That Grow designed and built a brand-new website end-to-end, plus a custom content management system tailored specifically for dog breeders. Adding a new puppy or litter is now a single form: upload photos, set pricing and details, mark availability, and publish. From there, an automated workflow auto-posts the new puppy to the Songcatcher Facebook page, formatted with photos and copy. We also built a custom owner community where past puppy families can sign in, post photos and stories of their grown dogs, and leave reviews — turning the site itself into the best testimonial the program has.

[ 04 ]The process

How it came together.

[ NOTES ]

We started with how the breeder actually works day to day — what makes posting a new puppy slow, what gets shared to social, and how past customers usually communicate. From there we mapped a single editorial workflow that covers the puppy listing, the Facebook post, and the public page in one shot. We designed the new visual identity around trust, warmth, and clarity, then built the puppy CMS, the Facebook automation, and the owner community as one unified system. Final passes covered performance, mobile experience, and the moderation tooling needed to keep community posts healthy.

The full story.

Songcatcher Dachshunds has been raising miniature and tweeny dachshunds in the Sierra Nevada foothills since 1988 — a reputation built across decades and hundreds of puppy families. The old website didn't tell that story. Posting a new litter meant editing pages by hand, then separately writing a Facebook post for the same content. Past customers had no obvious way to share how their dogs turned out, even though they were the most powerful proof in the entire program.

We rebuilt the site from the ground up with a modern visual identity — warm, trustworthy, clearly organized around available puppies, parent profiles, and the breeder's story. Underneath it, we built a custom content management system designed specifically for breeders. Adding a new puppy is now a single form: drop in photos, set the coat, color, and pricing, mark go-home dates, and publish. The puppy is live on the site instantly, and an automated workflow turns the same post into a polished Facebook update — no separate copy-paste, no duplicate work.

The third piece is the owner community. Past puppy families can sign in, post photos and stories of their grown dogs, leave reviews, and connect with other owners. That community now lives on the site itself, which means the strongest testimonials for Songcatcher come from the people most qualified to give them — the families who've been raising these dogs for years.

The result is a site that feels current, a backend that respects how the breeder actually works, and a steady stream of proof that the program delivers exactly what it promises.
