LocalCatholicChurches.com
A directory rebuild and SEO scale-up for LocalCatholicChurches.com — data cleaning, content depth, and a custom advertiser billing dashboard. Grew organic traffic from 500–1,000 visitors per month to a sustained 15,000+ in roughly a year.

LocalCatholicChurches.com had a small organic footprint (500–1,000 visitors per month) and a directory full of inconsistent, messy underlying data. Advertisers had no clean way to manage their own billing, and the site lacked the technical and content foundation to compete in organic search at scale.
Clean the directory data into a trustworthy foundation, scale organic traffic into the tens of thousands per month, and give advertisers a self-serve way to manage their billing — so the site could grow steadily without manual operations becoming the bottleneck.
What changed across the build.
Directory data cleaning
A multi-month pass through the underlying directory data — deduplication, normalization, and validation so the listings visitors land on are accurate and trustworthy.
SEO foundation
Site architecture, schema, on-page SEO, and technical signals tuned for the religious-directory category so listings can rank in competitive local search.
Content depth
Resource and category pages built around real visitor intent so the site earns rankings beyond just listing pages.
Advertiser billing dashboard
A custom billing dashboard for advertisers — they can view their account, see invoices, and manage their billing relationship with the site directly.
Ongoing care
Continuous SEO maintenance, technical health monitoring, and small improvements that keep the traffic curve climbing instead of plateauing.
What we built.
Sites That Grow ran a multi-month data cleaning pass to make the directory dependable, then built out the SEO foundation and content depth needed to scale organic visibility. We also built a custom billing dashboard so advertisers can manage their own billing directly instead of relying on email back-and-forth or a generic billing tool. Roughly a year in, monthly organic traffic sits steadily at 15,000+ visitors and the advertiser billing flow runs without admin intervention.
How it came together.
The project opened with a deep audit of the directory data and the current organic footprint. From there we ran the data cleaning work in parallel with the SEO foundation rebuild — fixing inconsistencies, improving page-level signals, and adding the content depth needed to compete. Once the traffic curve started climbing we layered in the advertiser billing dashboard so the monetization side could keep pace with the audience growth.

The full story.
LocalCatholicChurches.com started in a familiar place for a directory site: a small organic footprint, messy underlying data, and no real way for advertisers to manage themselves without going through email back-and-forth.
The first job was data cleaning. Directories live and die by the trust of the listings they show, and the site's underlying data needed deduplication, normalization, and validation before any of the marketing work would compound. Once the data was reliable we shifted into the SEO foundation — site architecture, schema, on-page signals, and content depth across categories that visitors actually search for.
About a year into the work, organic traffic moved from 500–1,000 visitors per month to a consistent 15,000+ per month. That kind of growth is only useful if the monetization side keeps up, so we built a custom billing dashboard for advertisers — one place where they can see their account, view invoices, and manage their billing relationship directly without anyone in the middle.
The site now runs as a sustained business. Traffic is climbing instead of plateauing, the directory data is dependable, and advertisers can self-serve on the billing side. The combination is what turns a small directory into something that can keep growing without needing the admin team to be involved in every transaction.
